Maha Guru Sagar Shrestha, founder of the Martial Art Budokai-do, was born in    Nardevi,Kathmandu, in Nepal, a small kingdom between India and Tibet. Since Childhood developing his fighting style was his only form of play. He has never been trained in any martial art, and at that time there were no TV or videos in Nepal. He has been teaching since the age of 12, a longtime before any fighting style was introduced in Nepal.

Budokai-do has very realistic techniques because it was developed in the street, through use in real life and experience what really works. Maha Guru was always trying out his techniques in the street, and found he never could win from boys who were much bigger than him when he attacked from the front. Read more
